Hi there Friends

Currently High Light Africa is still in the exciting growing stages of our existence so our team is quite small, but dynamically effective as we are a husband and wife team supported by a close-knit group of fiercely loyal family and friends.

A Vision is Born

The vision for High Light Africa was born in my heart in November 2015 when I felt vividly called to help suffering believers in Malawi. The ‘birth’ of this vision was preceded by a long ‘pregnancy’ of seeing the needs and experiencing God’s call and leading in this direction.

So in obedience to what I believe to be God’s will for me, I resigned from commitment to the mission organization where I was volunteering and then endeavoured to satisfy and obey this yearning in my spirit to see God’s Name lifted high in Malawi and surrounds.

Called and Trained

God has called me to into full-time service as a missionary in this beautiful continent of Africa and I have been privileged to be trained on 2 very effective and dynamic mission stations over a period of 10 years. I am immensely grateful to God for the training and input I have received from well-experienced missionaries and mission leaders.

I have written a blog on my missionary adventures, training, and experiences where you could find out more about me:

A Suitable Helper

My (most beautiful) wife (rib) Renee Watson has been an incredible support to me by allowing me to be away on mission outreaches for months at a time and then later also traveling with me overland through the harsh hospitalities of beautiful Africa.

She now continues to support our missionary calling by teaching at a high school here in Cape Town in order to put bread on our table and pay our rent. We are grateful for this way in which God has provided for us.

Financial Supporters

Part of our team that goes unnoticed by most people, but who are crucially vital to the practical functioning of the vision and priorities are those whom God uses to finance the outreaches, literature distribution, and projects that we are privileged to be involved with for the benefit of God’s people and the extension of His Kingdom.

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
– Matthew 6:19-21

Prayer Warriors

Almost as important as our financial supporters are those who support us through prayer – in fact they are more important. These are the valiant warriors who enlist and invoke God’s supernatural power and support to help us in our Gospel work. I count my prayer supporters as the most crucial part of our ministry.

Mentors and Advisors

I am also grateful for those to whom I can go to for advice, counsel, and direction when I need to check ideas, face difficult decisions, and just to keep me in line. I have once been told by a learned man, “If you are not under authority, you have no authority”. I am therefore grateful to those who are in authority over me and watch over me.

Friends and Family

I am blessed more than many others to have friends and family in my life who support me and this ministry vision in various was. I am grateful to God and to each one who has contributed in every way – whether small or large.

My prayer is that High Light Africa can grow into a community of believers who are looking out for the best interests of their brothers or sisters.

Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus…
-Philipians 2:4, 5

In His service – and loving it!
